A few weeks ago i added red slime remover to my tank to take care of my red slime problem. WORKED GREAT no more slime...but now i have a problem with my skimmer. I did leave it unplugged during the treatment time. Now about 2 weeks later everytime i go to turn my skimmer on it completely overflows no matter what. Ive even cleaned it down. If just keeps overflowing no matter what i do. Does anyone have any input on this?

Thanks!

What happens to all the nutrients in the cyano when it dies? It goes right back into the water to fuel the next burst of cyano. The slime remove kills the cyano, but it will return if your nutrient levels don't go down. You have to get your nutrients down, or it will just come back.

Skim really dry for a while that you are at home. Perform a large water change. You can even perform the water change with the skimmer if it is hooked up to a drain.

Did you do a large water change after the treatment?

I have treated for the slime a few times and always do a 30% water change the day after. I have never had a problem with my skimmer when I plugged it back in.
