skimmer help

I got my first skimmer today (AquaC remora nano) used, Im not sure how it works, I installed the pump (rio 800), it looks like it making alot of bubbles in skimmer but nothing seems to be going up to the collection cup, is there something wrong or am I missing a part, please help

It will take some time for the skimmer to 'break-in' and start producing skimmate. The bubbles should subside somewhat after the break in period as well. No worries.

Just to make sure I didnt get ripped off

I got,

1) skimmer

2) pump

3) collection cup

that should be it, right?
