Skimmer ideas?

So my damn skimmer pump has stopped working.

Should I replace it or get a new skimmer? Those conical ones look the goods, would it be worth the extra money to get one? Or should I just get a new pump for my tube skimmer?

I have a 40G system or so, any recommendations on skimmer/pump appreciated.

Forgot to say I have an older marine sources pump (about 4 years now) it was working well up until pump failure.

Well, if the skimmer was working well before then I say just get it back to where it was. What kind of skimmer (referring to the body, not the pump) do you have?

Yeah it was working well guess I'll just get a new pump. I don't know the model the markings have rubbed off it, it's an external one, regular tube body.
