I noticed bubbles coming out of my skimmer, and getting into the tank.
I consulted Mr.'s Farmer and Legate, as well as the good doctor. THe consensus was to keep running the skimmer unless the tank started to look like a spa inside.
The only problem I could see was that the uniseal was leaking somewhat. So Doc Roy let me borrow some seals (he had the 1/2 inch and the 1", and I need the 3/4!!!)
Not knowing what else to do I called Euro-reef. Chip there told me it is on their website, but do a water change, run some carbon, and clean your pump in vinegar and RO water.
Well guess what?!? The nipple on the air intake was a bit clogged which had the pump moving way too much water! Pretty good customer service I'd say, calling me back at home to give me advice. Makes me wonder what sort of service the other skimmer companies provide.
I appreciated the call, but if anyone with a ventiru skimmer notices alot of micro bubbles escaping, check that airline nipple and hose, and clean your pump well.
