Skimmer not skimming after pump replacement.

I had to replace a pump and impeller set up for my ER CS5-3 skimmer after the pump burned out 2 weeks ago. I went without a skimmer for almost a week and a half, but since I replaced the pump almost a week ago it is not skimming! This skimmer has always rocked and it started skimming within a day or two when I first purchased it. Why won't it skim now?? I would think the new pump would have been even more efficient. I am getting bubble production but no skimming.
Any ideas?

manufacturing oils on the pump. It may take a day of 2 to get it skimming again.

dont worry.. its the oils.. it can be up to 2 weeks. you never really know.. take it out, and run it in some dish soap water for a night, or maybe some muratic acid water. then put it back in.. that will probably cut the time down..

I'd go with some vinegar before the dish soap, but its your call....

It'll be back online before you know it....

I second the vinegar method. Food grade white vinegar is pretty safe. Just rinse in warm fresh water afterwards.
