skimmer opinions please

I think these skimmers are made very well but are expensive non the less. Supposedly the recirculating models do a much better job. Looking at the design of this skimmer , I don't see much difference than the coralife ss skimmer except maybe for parts quality. Also if the pump goes it's more than half the price of the skimmer

I bought a Coralife SS from Aquahut for under $100 and it does everything I need it to and more.. I have it on a 72g

Some reviews say that the coralife SS needs a lot of adjusting, especially when adding or changing things in the tank. Any experience with this?

Ya you have to adjust it. but nothing mind blowing... WHen I change something in the tank the last thing I do is adjust the skimmer. My wife knows how to adjust it as well if I am not there and it takes her all of a minute.

I have the Coralife SS125 on my 55 gal. I had one minor overflow when I first put it together. Totally due to my lack of experience. Once I got it together correctly, adjusting it hasn't been any problem. (and I did it myself, without my husband's help.)

I had a euro-reef, the 6-3+, and I loved it. Didnt require any adjustment and pulled out a ton of goo. Thats what turned me on to the needlewheels, and i have owned almost every brand since.

I dont have any experience with corallife to compare, though. There is someone on ManhattanReefs who modded his to be an rc and it seems really great.

I know at AquaHut they have a Coralife SS at the end of a row of tanks that are against the wall and when I looked last time I was there it seemed to be pulling out some really nasty looking stuff. Talking to one of the kids that worked there , he seemed to think it worked really well..If it does work well ...for the price I don't see a better one to get and it does use a needlewheel...
