Skimmer output: directly to refugium or back to sump?

Hi,
Not sure if this is the right forum to post this, but I've been looking all over for a straight answer to this question and can't find one. Should the output line from an in-sump skimmer (a Euroreef w/ gate valve mod, in my case) ideally go over a partition and drain directly into the refugium, or go back into the same compartment as the skimmer? I'm designing a new sump with a skimmer compartment that overflows into a refugium compartment, which then overflows into a sump compartment, and I'm not sure what the best way to plumb the skimmer is.

I think you will be better off sending the water to your refugium rather than the same compartment as the skimmer. You don't want to keep reskimming the same water.

If you skim the water then send it to the refugium you will get less settling detritus in the refugium.
