Perhaps it is the pole vs. poll thing, two things that sound the same but have completely different meaning.

Aquamaxx - reaction area looks tiny due to internal pump with bubble plate stuck on top. No way I would use that...... Unless its a much smaller tank

Sro 3000 - seems small to me, rated at 300g with probably a very very very light load. 150g tank maybe but not a 265g - if u want a sro get a bigger and better one

Diablo to me might be the best option of your choices..... However a few have had zero luck with the pumps while others claim they are reliable.....

I have also always thought in certain areas you should not try to save money. Do it right the first time so you do not have to buy another skimmer later or have other issues. For another $100-200 you can get a skimmer that would be much safer to run.....

What skimmer are you referring to?

There are a lot of skimmers for that size tank, have you narrowed it down to those or are you looking for perhaps more options? I would agree with not trying to skimp on the skimmer.

The aquamaxx has a 10 inch chamber, the largest of all of them.A lot of good reviews. I'm going with one of those 3, unless someone has a better one not over 550.00. Thanks

Yes, 10in Dia and about 23in tall. Subtract 6 or so inches for the lid/top and the body isn't very large. Plus with the pump thrown inside the body with a bubble plate on top even with the 10in dia body, the actually reaction area to fill up with bubbles is quite small. I would think that skimmer would be to small and not able to keep up

Sro3000 is rated 300 light load or 200 heavy.... I error on the side of a heavy load thus to small.

For $610 sro 5000 would do the trick

Or

Sro3000 external for $580 or something like that

Yes both more then you wanted to spend but i bet much better suited to your tank.

Not sure how a reef dynamics ins250 would compare..... $599 so yea...just out of budget
