Skimmer problem

I have a quick question, I am downsizing my 100gal reef to 50 gal reef and have a dillema. My skimmer fits the right chamber of my sump but due to evaporation I do not think its gonna work properly, so I want to move it to left chamber (it was supposed to be refugium originaly). Problem is I need to put something under my skimmer so the depth won't be more than 5-6 inches.
What do you guys use to build a little "stand" for your skimmers if you have to of course. Ideally I would not want to do it but it looks like I will have too, I can't lower the water level in the left chamber too much.
ps-ATO is not gonna work, tank is in the living room, wifey does not gonna agree to some buckets etc, under the sump no way it would fit, it is miracle she let me buy another tank, I learned one thing do not mess with pregnant woman :)

Just checked their website and wanted to apologize for stupid question and being lazy :)
Anyway thank you for your answer.
I guess I did not set up a new tank in more than 5 years and its kinda exciting, like a kid in a candystore :)
It will be hard to get rid of my large corals and my large fish though :(

Yes, eggcrate and PVC. Here's my old skimmer stand, much larger but the concept applies. Sorry if its not the focus of the pic, its was really to show my sump:

Thanks guys, new project under construction.
@Ali1 yes it is, a sargassum trigger, like I said it will be a said day when I will have sell him and few other fish but I guess sometimes we need to do what we need to do
