I am recently getting back into Reef Tanks, my next build will be an SPS focused tank. I'm reading that zero Nitrates and Phosphates may not be the goal. Where I would shoot for a largest skimmer that fits under the cabinet in years past, I'm now wondering what the ideal skimmer would be for a 150 tall with approximately 130 to 150lbs of live rock, minimal sand, no refugium, very strong water movement, and 2 Kessel A360's.
Fish will be Anthias 4 to 5, 2 clowns, at least 1 PB Tang and perhaps a few other smaller fish like dragonets, etc.
I'm wondering if we still need to overskim or if a skimmer rated for 150 gallons will now suffice if you want to keep Nitrates below 5 ppm and Phosphates low but not undetectable.
Thanks All!
