This may seem like a very rudimentary question but I'm still very new to the hobby. here goes
I have very limited sump space but I recently started looking to an externally fed skimmer as a possible solution. I only have experience with HOB and in sump skimmers so I really do not know where to start. I have a ton of questions about this next project.
Can a skimmer that is external be fed by any type of pump?
Will going over my sump wall be an issue? Drilling isn't really an option.
What about length between pump and skimmer is that an issue?
The secondary issue would be what happens in a power outage, does the sump need to accommodate additional skimmer water as well as whatever makes it down from the display? As it stands now the sump is to the rim when the power shuts off.
I added a rough mspaint of what I ideally want. Could anyone be awesome enough to point me in the right direction? total water volume is 90g
Price isn't an issue (it is but for the sake of keeping it simple we can pretend it isn't lol)
