Skimmer reducing output?

I've noticed that the water output had diminushed on my reef octopus 2000in... Do i need to clean the pump? Is it normal? I have it for about almost 1 year

Has the water level in the body dropped? I'd say first thing you should do is take out the needle wheel and scrub it down.

Yes, the level line in the skimmer had diminushed. I mean the line when the water clearly becomes bubbles. Before this level was 2-3 inches higher that the sump steady water level, but now it is just a bit above...
So I'll make a cleanup tonight, hoping to see some dirt...
What is the ideal sump water level for those skimmer? I've made a plastic spacer to raise it, as it was tending to over skimming at the begining, but I'm not sure that it still requires it anymore... My sump water level is at steady 8 inches, but I raised the skimmer at 6".

I'll clean it up, and then try to remove my spacer. But It was more pumping before, event with my spacer...
