skimmer suggestions for a 750 gallon

I figured I'd ask this question here. What are your choice of skimmer for a 750 gallon tank and 100gallon sump? I will be using an asm g4 along with another skimmer but I just can't figure out which one. I'm looking at the ati bubble master 300. What do you guys think?

You need to think larger. MUCH larger. I would look at something the size of an RK25. Think in terms of six/seven feet tall and 12"-18"Diametre.

Go that large and everything gets large. Skimmer, Ca reactor etc.

It is just math...you'll need to put large amounts of water through the skimmer in order to process the tank volume over a reasonable length of time...and if you put large amounts of water through a small chamber it goes through there so fast it has no time to react with the air bubbles. Big volume...Big chamber...if you try to get around that you will undersize your skimmer.

I would do that but I'm trying to fit everything under the aquarium in the stand. What's the best skimmer under 36" in height? Would running two or three skimmers be a good idea? I've just never done anything this big and really need some help choosing equipment.

Thanks, but unfortunately they're out of stock. Any other suggestions?

Yeah, order one;)

Seriously, you will need a hefty skimmer for a FOWLR. Might want to look at using two skimmers if you have height restrictions. I have a 1000g system that uses a 18" diameter x 60" tall needlewheel skimmer AND a 8.5"x60" quadruple beckett skimmer.

Wow! those things are huge! I really wish that I had the room for those bad boys. So do you think a H&S 300 and 1 or 2 ASM G4's is going to be enough?

How does a ER RC750 compare to a H&S300?

Or possibly 1 or 2 Reeflo Orca 250's? 2 of these could be purchased & shipped for less then the price of a ER RC-500. I think they are 32in tall or something like that?

I would definantly run a Orca 250 over a ASM G4, no comparison between the 2.

look for a skimmer that does 750 gallons an hour of air, (50 lpm). i might even try one of the new tunze master doc skimmers. they look great and not all that expensive for what you get.

The only problem I have with the orca is that it's external. For some reason that just scares me. So, I think that I'm leaning towards a H&S 300. Please let me know if you guys don't think that this is going to be sufficient. Thanks ahead of time.

Fade has a 450g tank with another 300-400g of saltwater in sumps, fuges, extra tanks and runs the HS-250 and likes it a lot....it skims very well.

I thought it could be run internal or external

& I know what you mean about being scared with a external one. I am going through the same thing... planning for a new tank (500 or 560gallons) & I cannot decide if I should make my own skimmer, fix my ER 12-2/RC500 or buy a Orca 250. I can get a Orca 250 for under $1200 so it's tempting....
