GO NOLES!
Ok, I have a 92 corne now......but I am picking up my new 250 gallon set up on Friday. What would be a good skimmer for a heavy bio load on a 250 FOWLR?

If you plan on a heavy bioload, then I think it is pretty much in line with what you need. Always take manufacturer's gallon rating with a grain of salt, and even then, those ratings might work for a tank with a light-to-moderate bioload.

I run a SRO-5000sss on my 240 reef. Awesome skimmer! Quiet and efficient on top of great skimming capabilities

sorry to hijack the thread but was wondering what skimmer you had before the xp5000?
Only skimmer that I have had on this tank was recommended to me by Mojo in his skimmer thread. But have use numerous skimmers in the past including euroreef, etss, seaclone, red sea berlin ,nautilus, prism, turbofloater, predator and a few more that I cant remember off the top of my head .

I have owned a bunch of different skimmers over the years. The best performing for the price has been the Super Reef Octopus line. They skim very efficiently, run quiet, require little adjustment, operate very reliably, and cost a fraction of what skimmers cost from other manufacturers which perform comparably. I think you will have a hard time finding any skimmer which performs this well at the price point of the Super Reef Octopus line.
