Skimmer upgrade.

I have a Ecalibur HV-1 that is putting out millions of micro bubles into my tank, which makes it annoying to look at. The tank is 30 gal, and as been set up for three months, the skimmer is three months old so it should have been through it's breakin period. I want to upgrade to a hang-on tank skimmer that is not going to put milions of micro bubles into the tank. I need you guys and gals help on what skimmer to get so I don't waste my money on a skimmer that is still going to put micro bubles in the tank. Thanks in advance for everyones help.

have you contacted Excalibur about the problem? perhaps you can fix what you have instead of spending on a new one?

In the bubble baffle box, are there any foam blocks? I cant tell by the picture I found. If there isnt, I would put some foam over the part where the water returns into the tank. If you want to look into another skimmer, check out the Coralife SS 65. I have it and I can tell you how to eliminate bubbles entirely. Another thing, make sure to keep your water level the same at all times to keep the skimmer working its best. Once you decide to go with a sump, you will see how much more stable your skimmer can be.

No I haven't contacted them yet. Its been doing this since I got it so I thought it just needed to go through it's breakin period. I would have to look up their # on google.

Sttroyiii there is a foam block in the bubble baffle box, but it dosen't help much. I was think of the Coralife SS 65, but some user said that they also have problem with micro bubbles. Sttroyiii how did you eliminate the micro bubbles?

Nanoreef58 I also have a valve on my air intake, but when I adjust the air flow so there won't be any bubbles in the tank the skimmer won't skim, because there is no bubble in the skimmer to go in the collection cup. Maybe I'm doing somthing wrong.
