i have a odyssea protien skimmer right now and it sucks it is for a 75 gallon tank and i am looking at a 180 gallon Jebo Protein Skimmer does any one have one or know anything about them. i need somthing bigger for my 90 gal and dont want to spend alot of money on one right now i need it to be a hob because i dont want to run a sump.

I would get away from the odyessa skimmers. I had one when first starting out and can tell you they are junk. the bigger size that your looking at won't be any better than the one you already have.

I suggest getting a decnt skimmer now rather than paying for junk now then later on spending more on a decent skimmer. even an ASM G2 will work alot better then the odyssa's

Agreed. This is true especially with skimmers, but needing a HoB skimmer kinda limits the good options honestly.

If you are looking to go to a 90 (or bigger) you might give serious thought to having a sump if you are able to make room for it as a hang on just wont fit the bill.

There is a lot of equipment to collect to be sure. It takes time.

I will vouch for the ASMs though. I bought a used one recently, very reasonably priced, with no mods and an Octopus NW pump that was pulling dark green skim right away... after doing the fishing line mod to it, the skim is more like tar. Its a good skimmer.

Keep an eye on the for sale forums here, there is almost always a good one for sale.

Feel free to send me a PM if you have a question. I'm far from being one of the more knowledgeable in the area, but I'll help where I can.
