Hey guys and gals i am a noob here and i have a question about my skimmer. it is a coralife 220 needle wheel, i purchased it used and it spits out a ton of microbubbles out of the diffuser. any ideas on how to cut that down? also when i first hooked it up it ran ok except for the microbubbles, but now when i run it the cup fills up with bubbles as well and fills the cup with water, any ideas?

thanks!

Most skimmers have an adjustable outlet that will determine the level of water in the body. If the water level inside the body is too high the bubbles will be wet and fill the cup. Try lowering the out put if it is adjustable until your foam thickens.

For the micro bubbles I use a plastic filter media that is often sold in LFS. It has the consistency of a brillo pad. If the out put water passes through it will break down or trap many of the bubbles.

adjust the red knob above the diffuser output in very small increments until you can see where the bubbles are in the neck of the collection cup. this will take awhile because every time you adjust you should wait until it settles down. Remember small increments at a time until u get the foam to just come over the top. As far as the micro bubbles i have the output flow going into the microalgae/refugium part of the sump so i don't have any problems with it going into the tank
