cephalopoder said:A biowheel will put out nitrates. That is something you want to remove from your system. You can use a regular power filter with only a bag of carbon and no sponge or bio media. This will allow you to run water though a good bag of carbon. I would advise against the bio wheel if you are going with a deepsand bed anf trying to reduce nitrates.
