[Skimmers] Who is Escobal?

so, did you drop $160 for this book?

the reason it is $160 is bcs a couple/three booksellers are capitalizing on the fact that it is out-of-print

buy it for $30 when you find it happenstance in the future

it's a good book in that he takes engineering principles and accurately applies them to closed aquatic systems

he was the owner/creator of Aquatronics - so the approach of the book is in support of the hardware his company was selling. But the principles of things like UV flow, pump pressure/flow, and skimmer design are universal concepts, so you just overlook the promo of his (now defunct) products.

it is a good reference - would be an easy read for an engineer,
for others it may require re-reading certain passages

I haven't picked it up yet. If the time comes when I start building an extensive system like I want to I'll purchase it then, if I haven't found it cheaper in the mean time. At the moment I don't have enough use for it to justify the high cost, but if I start a large system I'll happily pay for it, if it can help me avoid even one stupid mistake with a flow rate, skimmer, etc. Until then, I'll keep searching used book sites and hoping for a deal.
