If skimming really neccesary for a 25G tank?

alot of ppl with that small of a tank won't skimm but make sure to keep up with water changes every week

replacing the water with dechlorine tapwater or distilled?

every week you should take around 5 gal. out of the main tank and replace with rodi mixed salt water. but if you don't have rodi water then distilled should be fine depending on what you are keeping.

may i know what is rodi water?

not a prob. rodi is RO Reverise Osmosise and the DI is deionization. this site gets into alot more detail about rodi
