Sleeping wrasse

Do wrasse that "sleep" in a mucus cocoon really sleep?

I have a 6-line that sleeps in a hole right in front of my tank. I really want to get him out. However removing the rock is not an option. I was thinking about using a slurp gun or possibly injecting a small amount of clove oil or ms-222 in its hole. However I am still researching its effects on corals and dosage amounts.

wow...so cool. I bought a 6 line wrasse yesterday and have it in my QT. This moring i went to check on it and i couldnt find it...thinking it jumped i looked everywhere and then i saw it wedged between the side of the filter and the glass wall of the tank in this umbrella shaped cocoon of mucus...i thought, well, ok its dead, damn good thin i didnt put it in my DT...then i poked it with a small syringe and it woke up and swam away...

wodnering if this has any indication on the health of the fish...i feel bad that he's stuck in the QT

I had a Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse that did that.

I've woken them up and they act really weird, I thought mine was going to die. Its almost like waking someone who is sleep walking, not a good idea IMO, there must be another way.
