Slime algae?

So in my fuge I have chaeto growing under a 5k light and there is like red slime or red algae growing in the chaeto. What is it and is it good ?

Not good but can be part of a newish tank maturing process.
Manually remove as much as you can.. Turning lights off for 3 days.. Increase flow..

It's in my sump and the sump has been up and running for 10 months now and flow is slow because it's my sump so I don't know know what to do

Anyone else having these issue and if so what did you do cause that link so not to kill the light for three days in a sump

If its in the fuge and you have it being fed by a pump try to increase the flow, if not add a powerhead to increase flow and it will help remove the cyano

But I thought the slower the flow the better in a sump and it is only in my chaeto nowhere esle

I'm not advocating pushing mass amounts of flow through the fuge. But if your having issues with cyano you could add a small power head to add a little flow to break it up.

Be sure to flip the chaeto. If its getting covered the cyano will starve it of light.

How often do you vacuum the fuge?
