Slime on the top of the water

So, my tank is starting to develope a slime layer on the top of the water. What could be the cause of this?? I haven't changed the maintainence routine of the tank at all, and the parameters are all good. The only real change is that I put a bigger pump on for more flow. The temp is also about .5 - .8 degrees higher due to the hotter weather.

any help to offer?

wave3form, angeloM3, thanks for the replys guys...

I have a powerhead in there, but it is just low enough to barely ripple the surface. It is increasing the flow in the tank, but not rippling the surface.

What is the slime anyway? I have never had this problem before now and the tank has been running for 6 months now. Granted not a LONG time, but....

get an overflow, although my new drilled tank is only a few days old, i can already tell the difference in the surface, its crystal clear. my overflow cost me 20 bucks to get made at tap plastic, drilled the hole with a dremel and got some 5 dollar DAP reef silicon and i'm golden

I have an issue with this as well- the stock 12g aquapod.. its powerhead feeds out of 2 moveable arms with slats in them..

I've noticed some of these have lower water levels in the back chambers but I even put in a maxijet 900 and still am not experiencing this where the built in surface skimmer skims.

Would it be bad to point one to ripple the water? I was hoping to not sacrifice the amount of flow lower in the tank... but there's still the other arm i could point around.. maybe have them face near opposite of each other
