Hi,

My slipper coral (Polyphyllia) has not opened in two days. I am not sure what is wrong. Does anyone have experience with these corals? I have had it for two weeks and it seemed fine. I think something must have gone wrong after I moved some rocks around. The Zoos are doing fine, the brains are good too. Even one of them is getting it's color back it was bleached from the LFS. The polips look good too.. He is the only one that is not happy. I did have an apstasia that died after I moved the rocks. So I am not sure if I let something nasty into the water column. I might move it to the sandy bottom..

Been doing daily water test.. Last test was 0 amonia .1 nitrites 10 nitrates. I do weekly water changes. Last one was Sunday.

Water isn't horrible. .1 Nitrite isnt perfect but isnt that much. When you moved the rocks did you re arrange them? It is receiving more or less flow than before? Is there direct flow right at it?

he might be getting a little bit less flow.. My tank had a second cycle so I think that might have ****ed it off. That is why you see the .1 I should probably move him. Maybe that would cheer it up...

Did another water test today.

Amonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5

Phosphates are 0 to .25

Salinity is 1.28 I use premixed salt water. Tends to be salty..

Updating!! Looking much better now!!

I do have to admit that my tank is looking much better now. It started to look better once I had this massive pod population growth. The tank looks cleaner and everything sems happier than ever. So I think something had to be wrong with the water chemistry.
