This is what it looks like right now. Just set it up at the beginning of November. Getting close to a month old now.

The bottom right rock is well seasoned and currently has some algae on it. Other rock has been dry for awhile.

sponges and stuff on that live rock

I have a 20" 150w Sunpod for lighting. I borrowed 2 par meters just for fun to look at lighting levels.

These are the readings. 14k brand new Phoenix bulbs.

I think I might have some pretty sticks on the rock and may try to glue a few zoa's to the back wall and get a nice zoa carpet going there. May have a couple brains on the sand...we'll see :)

update :) New additions...yay!

Got Jed his firefish from Nebraska Aqutic Supply along with a mini carpet.

I tried to chip a piece of rock off that had hyroids and sadly split the rock and broke a quarter off the mini carpet. I don't think it will make it, but I haven't thrown it yet.

Then picked up some sexy shrimp from Scott today :D

Got my blueish mini carpet today. It looks good and the sexies found it with in 10 minutes of it going in the tank...lol

The torn mini carpets seem to be doing really well.

Big one.

The little one that was torn off the big one. It was just a small piece about 1.5" long and a 1/2" wide or so. It's almost a complete circle now.

Had the opportunity to snatch another carpet... it's Purple! As you can see the Sexies found this one pretty fast too! I can only find 5 sexies. I think the fire fish ate the smallest one.

And the nem wall

Tore my maximini in half moving a rock on accident the first 5 minutes I got it.. Didn't think it would make it. but 1 week later, I have 2 perfect minis! :) Tough buggers they are!

added a little Tail Spot Blenny (from Diver's Den) yesterday. This picture is from earlier today before the lights were on. He's still a bit skittish. He will stay in here for several months and then I might move him to my 40g tank.

things are looking good .. but u really need to hang that light . get it above the water like 8-10 inches . 150 is way to hot for 12g . i did the same on my tank . i put a 250 on a 24 gal tank .

Yea. When it gets warmer and fans are back in stock I will pick up some to blow over the top. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll hang it :) On the sunny days our kitchen warms up to 76 and the tank hasn't overheated yet. That's about what we will keep it at this summer. I'm hoping it's internal fans, coupled with an external will be enough.

Thanks :)

Kitchen temp is at 78 today. Tank is 80 so far. No other fan on it other than the built in one on the light. I have a stick on mercury looking like thermometer on the inside of the tank.

The tail spot blenny seems to like hanging out with the fire fish. It's a pretty cute lil guy!

sooo...yesterday afternoon I took the netting off to temp acclimate some snails. Well, Sparky, the firefish, jumped at some point and I found him dried up on the floor behind the tank yesterday evening. I've temp acclimated several bags before, I guess something just really spooked him this time.

so we need a new Sparky!
