Just dug up the original pics of some of my corals and though it might be fun to post then and now pics. Most of these have gone through 1-2moves, red bugs, and a 58gal tank leak into a tub for 4-5wks and then in the 24gal aquapod

aentrop - Well I want some pretty corals some day and I received the frags for NOTHING...so small frags take a LONG time to grow :(

I thought the "true" Oregon Tort was a slow grower and the cali tort was very very fast?? I have both and the cali is fast but looks totally different?

A lot of my corals seem to have been on reverse for the last year....I'm finally got my nitrates under control and I can see growth on corals I have'nt seen growth on in about 6 months. When water is not up to par they can just sit stagnant.

Not saying this was the case for you Lunchbucket but definately for me. I've got frags that are almost 2 years old and they are still frags. I do have some that have been good growers all along though....this hobby is so frustrating some times.

Anyway nice stuff and good patience.......it takes time to grow these buggers out no matter what.

my oregon doesnt set any growth records, but i feel you should be getting a little more out of it than that.

then again, with the things listed that it went thru... maybe it is par for the course.

i have had some frags that just go idle for some reason. when i see that happening i usually frag them or make a few minor "damage" areas... those areas then usually take off

I agree with chris, the oregon tort doesn't even seem to think about growing. I have the ORA one, seems the same for the last 5 mos.

wonder if my sand bed that was cement in the bottom of my 58gal was the cause? My wife commented on how much more the corals like my little 24gal bare bottom now? More nutrient export with taking out all the stuff on the bare bottom every week or 2?

Ok it's been less than 1 month and I'm seeing quite good growth now from my PM and thought I'd take some pics.
