Slow Reef Update (w/ DIY Skimmer)

Keeping it Simple
Just a pic of my DIY skimmer. The original design was a cone, but I didn't really want to buy a heat gun. So, this design incorporates a series of smaller diameter tubes to funnel the skimmate. Not much has changed on the reef road, but I'm hoping this will help to slowly change that.

It's been running for a few days now. Hope you enjoy! Sorry, I didn't take pics of the build. :p

Glad things are continuing to improve in your system.

Are you happy with things or are you still trying to "fix" things?

Thanks Mike. I'm happy, but I knew I wanted a skimmer. The corals a growing slowly. But, I'm just doing WC's, keeping parameters consistent, and letting them do their thing. PO4 has always been a concern without Kalkwaser and skimming at the beginning, but both of those are online now. These 2 were staples in my 30g Breeder and 65g.

I'm just happy their growing. That was the test for me. Now, phase 2 is implemented. :)

It'll be interesting to see what is happening @ the 6 month mark. The tank's been running since May, but the corals were introduced in July.
