50g w/ 18g sump
4 fish, few corals so far.

I have a
Warner Marine
Model MF 121
Rated up to 80 Gallon Tank
Footprint Approx. 5.5" x 6.5"
Height Approx. 21"

It's causing me so much problems I want to chuck it out my window. I need a skimmer with a small foot print that can handle my tank.

Room to fit would be 7.5x8
I would like it to have a drainage nipple, if not, no big deal.

You can try the SC 65..They have had some really good ratings, I remember seeing a thread on them here..I have one in my 50g cube but it is not set up yet so I can't say how well or not well it works..

But if you can find that thread I'm sure you will like it. Most were saying that they got it for under $100..I don't know for sure how much they are because mine came with the tank..I would give them a try. I talked to the manufacturer of these skimmers on Friday..

He was telling me about how they just built a custom 1200g circular tank that they had to use 6 red dragon pumps, and went with a few of their largest skimmers, for Mariah Carey. So they must be doing something right. lol

I've been looking at the bubble magnus bm-nac3.5 rated for 80gallons.. but some people say better off going better.. but nothing bigger fits, lol

I was going to recommend the bubble magus 3.5. I had one on my 46 bow and it rocked. I'm sorry I sold it. Small footprint, but solid performer.

Check out a Sump Buddy. Might be overkill but very affordable...Or the Reef Devil. Solid performers and made for small footprints. Had a reef Devil on a 140g and it got the job done.

You could always do a DIY skimmer too. I'm sure you could find some very good ideas if you pull a few ideas from many builds and mix all of them into one genius skimmer. Best part about that would be that you could control the footprint..

I would look at the ASM Mini G. I run one in my 40 breeder and love it. Rated for 80 gallons. Pick it up from auqacave.com for 129.99
