What is the thinking for say 3 small diphreutes in a 75, with the ability to remove them as they get older? Thanks....

I don't think they are small fish.

If they are the only fish in the tank you'll be okay for awhile provided they are small when purchased. Otherwise I wouldn't get more than 1 in a 75.
