small red pods?

i have found small red pods in my tank that i have never seen before. i see them on the glass from the sand bed to about 4 inches above. they are bright red (these are not the acro eating red bugs) and about the size of a harpacticoid copepod. there is no way to get a picture as they are far too tiny. i cant make out any other identifying marks. they basicly look like red dots on the glass. i should note they move in similar to harpacticoid copepods as well. has anyone else seen these guys?

Yes, that sounds right. They're quite likely to be some sort of copepod. The benthic ones come in a variety of colors & shapes.

thanks for the reply. i may go out tomorrow and get a magnifying glass. these little guys are out during full lighting intensity. i really don't have any fish that would rely solely on pods as a food source.

I have those in my fuge. I added them intentionally from one of Rod Buehler's (Rod's Food) tanks. They are harmless, but beneficial.
