small sps tank ideal fish besides clowns

Sorry for the silly question but every time i start another tank i'm wondering what fish to us and end up with Clowns. Not that they don't make a perfect or ideal sps reef friend fish but they don't eat any of the algae if there is any. One thing i miss about having a larger tank is having a tang to each unwanted algae. Is there any other fish that would do similar task?

What size tank and what kinds of algae are we talking about? A lawnmower blenny would probably help you out. IME, some turbo snails are probably your best option for this kind of job.

Keep it clean and you won't have to deal with algae

In my 30 gallon, I have 2 clowns, 3 purple chromis, starry blenny, possum wrasse and a sunburst anthias. The anthias is the only one that does not belong, but big tank coming.

20g long bb dry rock with 10g sump. Never had an issue with keeping the tanks clean with BB but my last tank i had an issue with bubble algae that for the life of me couldn't control. Even tried removing p04 via gfo and if i removed any more p04 i would bleach the colors. I'm not sure if a lmb would eat bubble algae or not. Anyway i'd love to have a yellow tang but its just not far to one to keep in in such a small tank.

Bubble algae is really only going to be taken care of my emerald crabs in a tank that size. IME, bubble algae will live in ultra low nutrient and high nutrient tanks; it doesn't really care if you strip the water of nutrients as you found out. In larger tanks, I have heard that some people have rabbitfish that will eat it.

bingo i hate bubble algae. Hard to get rid of big time :mad2:
