Small white fluffy "clouds" on LR?

Tank has been setup about two weeks, and it has some serious diatoms going on. Not a huge deal, as to be expected.

My one question, I'm starting to see little patches (about the size of a BB) of white fluffy patches, look a lot like small bits of cotton ball on some of the live rock. Anyone have any idea what this is?

There is a cotton algae but it is pink/purpleish.

What your describing sounds more like small sponges.

If you could get some pics it will help members here to give you a better ID.

If so, they are harmless, I have them in my tank as well.

Google pineapple sponge and see if that looks like it.

Honestly, I wish it were a sponge, but I don't think it is. Looks more like a fungus to me. Sorry the pictures are so terrible, I probably should be using some sort of tripod. Let me know if these help at all. Size is about half the size of a piece of rice.

it's hard to tell in those pics, but that tank is gonna look great! Where did you find that rock? I thought you couldn't get it anymore!

I found it at my LFS here in Kansas City. I was pretty surprised too, as for the most part it's just one giant piece of LR. Probably about 7 pounds.

Supposedly it's FIJI premium, although right now it's an algae fest.

Looks like Tonga rock, but either way its going to be nice.. I wouldn't be too worried about the white things..
