Smaller tank lighting options

Just wanted to check and see what may be available for a smaller tank setup. I don't have the heart to care for my 125g anymore and need to just downsize and keep a few favorites.

Would be interested in knowing what T5 or lower wattage halide options people may have available.

What sized tank are you thinking of Mel? I've got a 150w sunpod over a ten gallon.

Not sure Ryan... haven't decided a definate size yet. 10g would definately be too small but I do want to get down to 40g or smaller. I didn't want to decide on say a 20g and then come across a good deal on a 36" fixture after the fact so thought I'd check ahead of time.

I've already got reflectors/sockets for halides sitting around so I may just buy a 175w electronic ballast and DIY the hood and stand. Ideally looking for something used though if anyone has something just collecting dust they want to sell.

I'll be at the Buffalo swap 8/7 in case anyone out that way has something.

I'm gonna be switching out the lighting on my 30 gallon. 150 watt DE. gonna be switching evertyhing out soon as I have everything for my 90 gallon depending on what your looking for.

Are you breaking the 125 down completely? what ended up happening with the 180?

Yes. Breaking down the 125g completely.

The 180g was a gift that I am currently planning to hang onto for the day that I know will come.

Looks like I'm most likely going with a 175w electronic ballast. This keeps my options for tank sizes open still so now I've got some more decisions to make...

Edit: I plan to pick some brains and check out pricing in the area. I know G has had a few different cubes come through. Tempted to go with a 24" x 24" footprint.

Sounds like the Marineland 45G Cube (24x24x18'') would suit you well. A 175W MH coupled with a few 2' Actinics would light it well, too!

i have a question regarding flow in cubes...since i just set up Liam's 40g hex (thanks, Mynock!) and that's fairly similar...how many powerheads and what locations?
