smallest clam available

i am looking to pick up a clam in the future. which stay the smallest? i plan to pick it up small. i dont have the space to devote to a hugeee monster

The Crocea is the smallest of the clam species, and are very colorful. They require full spectrum lighting.

however, small maximas are more easily found 1" or so. croceas usually are 3+". neither will outgrow a decent sized tank. but small clams sometimes are less hardy.

3" is much safer starting point from what I understand.
