Smallest QT

So what's the smallest QT I could get away with? My apartments tiny, really tiny. I'll have a 150g and a 90g setup in what any normal person would call the dining room....It will be the perfect fish room; no windows, ground floor, and both tanks will be on separate circuit breakers. I already own a 14g nano setup that dry atm. I saw that Smack was planning to use a 40 breeder, is that the smallest you can go? I'm hoping to get all my new fish as small as possible but do you think a tang would last a few weeks in a 14g or should I head on down to pet-co.... Has anyone ever used a live stock pool or Rubbermaid bin to QT? Just wondering if the med's would change due to the chemicals used in the bin's and pools manufacturing.

If you had only one small tang in the 14g I think it would be fine as long as it wasnt a permanent home.

I'm not planning on using the tank for Qt'ing fish it's for corals. I'm one who has different beliefs in Qt'ing fish.

I think a 14 gal would be fine for very small fish and one at a time. A good alternative would be a 20 long or two. They take very little space to set up and if you want multiples hey make iron stands for two or three of them to go above one another. Whatever you do make sure you have a really good bio filter so the tank/s don't become ammonia traps.

Following. I also want to know if a clear Rubbermaid container would work. Something small but around 15-20 gall that I can set up and observe easily. That's exactly what I would prefer as well. I want to set it up only for when I get new fish then tear it down when it's over. If that would work it would be fantastic.

I'm going with a stock tank from tractor supply company. Cheap, food grade and fits in my "hobby" room when not in use. I'll let you know who it works out.

Not sure if it matters w fish qt , but all the stock tanks I've seen from TS have had a brass drain fitting...
If nothing else, I guess you'd be doing some level of copper treatment.
