I'm assuming it only works with a product that you sell and will text the tank owner when something wrong is happening with their tank/system?

YES: one SMS-UNIT can handle several ProfiLux devices (if they are linked with RS485)

to one of both, is connected to the RS232-port
the other ProfiLux can be accessed over your RS485 connection
