Snail ate my hammer?

I bought a nicely sized hammer (6") and about 2 weeks after having it, one of my turbo snails ate it! the whole thing!

How/why? Is this typicall?

I don't think so. You sure the turbo wasn't just cleaning the dead skeleton? Either that or it's not a turbo.

i am 100% sure it is a turbo, and i literally watched it eat my hammer...I had 2 dead skeletons, and the other 2 were thriving with hammer, and i watched him mow it down....(by the itme i saw him, he had already eaten like 90% of it, so it wasnt worth it to try and save the other 10%)
