Snail Health Experts?

Heres My problem...........All of my snails except one died. About a week ago I did about 1/3 water change... with the same procedure I always do. The tank has been esablished for over 3 years. All of my tests came out fine when I checked them. Water temp and salinity were fine also. The snails just surled up in their shells and that was that. I asked this question in another forem and everyone said just wait they will be fine .... they were not. Because I thought maybe I missed something I brought a water sample to a LRS nearby they checked it out and found nothing. We decided to pop a new snail in now that its been a week and about an hour later ....... there it is on the bottom closed in its shell.............. Im baffled and concerned. Does anyone have any Idea if all of the normal tests come out fine?

What is this "same procedure" that you always use?

I use RO water ...Mix it in a big Bucket..In front of the tank.. Check salinity, and PH, and I use Instant Ocean.......... Check the Temp....Heat it if I need to.. so It match's the tank.......... Drain the amount I have mixed Im not near the sink so I use a gallon container.... then I add the new water. I have been doing it this way for over 3 years without a problem. Update..... the new snail is doing OK today!
Hopefully it will stay that way........ However I dont want to make the same mistake.....( not looking forward to the next water change)

You should allow the newly mixed water some time to age. atleast overnight. Ther are some chemical reactions which occur when the salt mixed up. PH fluctiations and such. A large water change can have an effect on the overall tank parameters.

Sorry forgot to mention that as I mix it over 3 or 4 days I add the salt to a 2 gallon bucket in the sink that I use to collect my RO water.. then I dump that into a big 32 gallon bucket..ater it desolves.. so the salt is mixed over like 3 or 4 days as I collect ro..... I only have a small unit that hooks to the sink so it takes me a few days to get enough water collecting each night after work.........
