The greenish-white one looks like a nassarius, the speckled one next to it looks like neither of those (no snorkel), and the ones on the edges look like maybe whelks. Where'd you get them?

Sorry one above the white is a cerith snail.

I got these from lfs he said his supplier sent those as "nassarius".

Should I remove the Welch?

Don.
I checked the welk link in melevs reef. They do fit the welk description. I guess true test comes when I feed frozen and whoever comes out of the sand. Let's see.

How sure are u those are nassarius?

Thanks !

Don has extensive knowledge of all things snail. His ID's are 100% accurate. ;)
Awesome. I even checked a site called garstropods and other sites seems there are lots of types of nassarius snails. Some carnivores only and can hunt snails. Hoping these won't kill any.

Thanks guys[emoji1]

I agree they're all nassurius. The nassurius that I have are the rougher shelled version in your photo, but I often see that light colored one with the smoother shell sold as nassarius in stores.

I've had them 6 years, yeah I didn't know snails lived that long either, and they do nothing harmful. If anything dies in the tank, they are right there and remove it before it decays. I think people suspect them of killing whatever it is that died, but they just respond quickly to feed and but didn't actually kill anything.

Great. Do yours stay in sand or rock work? I heard welc only stay in rock and are nocturnal.

Whereas nassarius bury inside sand.

Mine stay in the sand unless I'm feeding. Sometimes when it's dark they come out and just sit on top of the sand. Once in a while they climb the walls or rock work.
