Snail suicide

Should I be worried about my water parameters if my snail jumps to the carpet? Found him this morning and threw him back in. Does this happen a lot?

Did you give the snail a whiff before you threw it back in? Some snails are prone to crawling out of the tank, (Nerites in particular) but overall this shoundn't be happening. If the snail jumped ship then it should have no impact on your parameters whatsoever.

Get ready to have them die for no apparent reason.

Ive had em crawl out the tank, into filters, flip off the glass, etc, etc. Usually if the snail falls off the rock or glass its a goner because I dont notice it in time and the starfish gets to them and eats them.

Tis the life cycle. I just count the new empty shells and buy more snails every 6 months.
