Snails Die Off

I am having a die off of snails in my tank. I have 12 now I am done to 4 or 5. The activity of my redleg, blueleg, zebra crabs have slowed way down. I added a picaso trigger on 11-27. At that time my level for all good. This die off start before the addition of the trigger. I just started adding Purple Up and Stress Zyme just this week. My N/N are 0, A 0, PH 0 and Calcium around 400. I have a trigger, yellow tailed damsel, domino damsel, clarki clown, sand sifting star fish (which stands buried in the sand) peppermint shrimp and emarald crab. I also have about 30 lbs of live rock in my 55 gal. What could be the cause of this?

My guess is that the crabs are atleast partially responsible. If the snails are astrea snails and they fall onto the sand they will die cause they cannot right themsleves. Why are you adding purple up and stress zyme.

It was suggested by my LFS to use thr purple up to help the growth of coraline algae and the stress zyme to add to the biological filter.

Some snails that are sold in pet shops actualy come from cooler water than they tell you. Those that are from cooler water usually don't do well in the higher temps of our tanks. For example Mexican Turbo Snails collected too far north usually don't survive very long in marine tanks but if they collect them where the water is much warmer the snails do much better in the tanks. What kind of snails are these? If I were you I would try a few different snails from different stores and see if they also die. I hope you don't lose any more but the addition of the trigger might have just guarenteed that senario.
