Snails In Rear Sump?

My tank has been up for a few months and there is algae growing in my rear sump area...its an AIO tank. Is it ok if I throw some snails in there? If so, what type would you suggest? ...Or any other alternatives.

I have a reactor, bag of purigen and a bag of chemipure blue in different compartments of the sump, not sure if that makes a difference.

I would just keep it clean/void, one way or the other. (don't clutter it up) If you NEED to run some sort of media though, this is a different story. Let it get in where it fits in... GL.
