snails in refugium?

do snails eat chaeto? i was wondering if its a good idea to throw some snails in my refugium?

I don't know of any snails offered in the trade tha eat chaeto. Detrivores like nasarrius would be ok, but take care that your baffles / screens won't let them get into your return pump chamber. They'll get sucked in, and may damage your impeller, or clog the inlet.

i have a seperate tank for my refugium wich drains by gravity to my sump. so the snails wouldn't bother my pods either then right?

Snails aren't pod-eaters.
