Snails, Shrimp, Corals and Ich???

I have heard various anecdotes of ich being introduced to a tank on snails, corals, rock, shrimp, etc. If I get a coral from a suspect tank from my LFS, will an iodine dip wipe out the ich parasite as well as any other nasties or what should be my course of action?

You should quarantine the coral for a period of four to six weeks in a tank with no fish. Any Cryptocaryon irritans should be dead without a host by then. If the coral has C. irritans on it, it would likely be in the tomont stage, which means they would likely be protected from the iodine, which I'm not sure would kill it even if they weren't in their protected/reproductive phase .
