snorkeling tres tios

Anyone ever snorkel off the beach at the tres rios resort in the lagoon area (cancun/riviera maya) they have? We are staying a few resorts down from there where it sounds like the snorkeling off the beach is non exsistent. Ive read the water is crystal clear at the lagoon but haven't read too much about snorkeling in it.

Thanks

try SCUBA. Im sure they have some intro or beginner courses at the resorts down there. Wife and I got certified before going to Coz several years back. Wish i would have done it sooner. And I am a very claustrophobic person.

But as far as snorkel, we did it in Cozumel 8 yrs ago, and the water is beautiful down there.

Since you are so close......do the Puerto morales snorkeling trip. Well worth it in my opinion. I am leaving for the Dominican Republic here in a few days and looking myself for a place to go near there.

Im sure ill do a tour or two as I have in passed years in Riviera Maya and cozumel. I enjoy going right off the beach as well and recently read about this lagoon

I stayed at the Grand Velas Resort just down the beach from there last summer. The snorkeling right off of the beach area wasn't great. There wasn't a lagoon area like it appears there is at your resort. Hopefully it's worthwhile.

We did a snorkel tour through Aventuras Mayas that was very cool. We snorkeled in a cenote, a cave, and then a lagoon.

Tuluum was a lot of fun too, but museum fun, not snorkeling fun.

I'm in the Dominican right now and we are staying in the Riu resorts. I went snorkeling off the black and it's not bad. Scattered patches of reefs all over the place with lots of fish and some coral. Plenty of anemones all over the place. Last year we stayed at the ocean blue resort and it was exactly the same. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

We leave for the Dominican in the morning. We are staying at Secrets. Hopefully we find a good snorkeling spot as well nearby.
