BROOKLYNELLA STICKY

"To use it as a short dip in seawater, make up a bath in seawater at 200 to 250ppm for 1 hour. The dip component of this treatment regime should be carried out on days 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 & 11 after each dip the fish should be returned to a quarantine tank to which formalin has been added (see below). For the long term bath component of this treatment, add 25ppm of formalin to your quarantine tank (itโ€™s toxic to some invertebrates and algae, including most coralline algae species, so cannot be used in a reef situation). Remember liquid formalin (which is how you will get it from the chemists) is 37 to 40% formaldehyde and you want 25ppm so you need to add 0.0625ml formalin per liter rather than 0.02ml to get the correct dose."

I was also researching and planned on doing dips, and then returning the fish to a new freshly made saltwater container. BUT by doing a long term bath all the time you save alot less work and resources. SO I like that option much more.

SO a couple questions.

May you help me in finding how much Formalin to dose per gallon for the hour long baths, and how much for the long term in the tank?(37% Formaldehyde) And what kind of equipment to use to measure this accurately?

Does dosing Formalin prevent the tank from ever being used as a DT eventually?

THANKS!

This should tell you how much formalin to drip into a formalin bath.

You can pick up any dropper at a Walgreens/cvs. Should be in the baby section. As long as it reads MLs you should be fine.

I started off around 120ppm and gradually moved up to 200ppm for each bath I did.

I also did it every other day to work with TTM. Would bath them and drop them into a clean tank.
