Snowflake eel tank size

Just wondering, what aquarium size do you guys recommend for a snowflake eel, long term? I'm planning a new tank, and thinking of getting a 36 x 24 x 24 90 gallon. Thanks

There are eels that are better suited to a tank that size. I recommend snowflakes to be kept in standard 120g tanks or larger. For larger adults, a 6 foot 125g is probably better. What kind of fish do you intend to keep?

The eels aren't too active though, and pretty much just peek out of one hole all day so one might do ok in your tank.

No sweat. I have mine in a 150g but never leaves one side of the tank. IMO real easy to keep as long as you feed regularly. Mine is around 20" or so and have had him for a year.

Tankmates, I'm not sure. Possibly a tang, but probably just small peaceful fish.
What other speciew would you recommend?

The thing about keeping a snowflake in a 3 foot tank is it's going to get the length of it eventually or nearly so, and it should at least be given an option to travel from one cave to another. Also, if it gets really excited during feeding time, where in a 3 foot tank are the tank mates going to hide from a hungry 3 foot eel that smells food? The length limits you, imo, to probably just a dwarf, chestnut, or jewel moray.

Now if you wanted to keep a snowflake in your tank, it's not like it would stress to death. They're bullet proof. Just imo a smaller species would probably be happier.

Got it. It's just the snowflakes are extremely common around here, my lfs usually has at least 5 small ones in stock at any given time.
