Snowflake in NANOs???

Been looking at the photo gallery, and have seen a few foto's of Snowflake eels in 24 gallon aquapods and other nanos,

I have also been visiting some Live Fish Order Sites, that have said that their maximum tank size is

20gallons
30 gallons
50 gallons

Which one is it, With them growing to around 2, maybe a little more feet in length, would it be possible to keep them in 20's and 30's comfortably?

Insight, comments, views,

I am intrested, but very doubtful, and would like to make a proper decisions, for the health and welfare of any fish added to an aquarium.

I have a 29, if they are not suitable, let me know, no offense taken, Because I know of a few individuals who keep these guys in similar sized tanks
 
it does, and i completely agree, but would it be ok, to have one in a 29? I mean they rarely get over 18", so would i be able to have one?

What is the Minimum tank size, there seems to be alot of debate
 
Personally i wouldn't try it for the eel's sake...from the few snowflakes ive seen they move a decent amount and a 29 just wouldn't suit them........But your choice
 
i would not try it i work at a lfs i and most of the ones we get in are about 2.5f and about 3-4 wide wiht something that nasty in a small body of water u would have to do a water change every other day.

i kept a snowflake eel in a 10 gallon for close to 6 months while he recoverd from a nasty bite from this guy!

he is a yellow head moray, i also have a goldspot moray and a black high fin moray.... they like to bite me.
 
I really wouldn't try it.

Unless you knew you were going to upgrade to a 55 gallon plus after a few months, it takes work and a very healthy eel from the start to have success.

I had a snowflake in a 55 for a couple months. He was only 14 inches long and I had to get rid of hi cuz he looked cramped.

ok, i won't be adding an eel, i have determined my final stock list for my 29

1 black ocellaris
1 ocellaris
1 royal gramma
1 Elibai Dwarf Angel
 
I had a snowflake in a 29 for years without any problems. He just sat in his little home and would come out to feed, otherwise he was pretty docile. He was around 16" long. I don't see a problem with it.
 
I had a snowflake in my 26 gallon for a couple years. It did fine, the only problem I had with it was it started eating all my other fish! Even the ones bigger than its head... But if it's just the eel and some fish that are considerably larger than its head it will do fine.
 
All you people wanting morays should read this new book by Phil Purser: Keeping Moray Eels in Aquariums .

Purser states the rule of thumb is that your tank should be at least twice as long as your moray.

I bought mine at toofishy.com.
 
I've kept a snowflake in my 90 gallon fish-only setup for almost three years now. I wouldn't want one in my 29 gallon reef setup though, especially considering how rowdy it becomes at feeding time! It would knock any coral out of place that was not glued down. Awesome creatures, but I think they need a big home.:D
