So annoying...

This sump is driving me insane. I put the mag 5 in the part were the bubbles get removed, and it still spits out bubbles. I put it in the part farthest from that, it doesn't, but then if I turn on the skimmer, the bubbles start again. WHY IS THIS NOT WORKING?! HOLY CRAP! SERIOUSLY! Its no joke this thing is being annoying!

Is there a solution to this never ending bubble madness?!

The mag 5 is FULLY covered.

I need this tank ready TONIGHT! I am transfering my 3gallon into it and adding a CUC. Why is it being so complicated on me?

thanks

Add a filter sock to the outlet of the skimmer and drain from the display. You will have ZERO micro bubbles of any kind.

I dont believe that the bubbles should be started from your MagDrive. I have used 3 of them before and never had that EVER! I might look into getting it replaced or repaired as it might be from that but get that check with others on this board first!

I would add a Tee with a ball valve to your return line, and divert some water back into the return section of your sump. You may be getting micro bubbles from your drains, and the mag 5 is moving too much water through your sump (10g, correct?) too quickly.

I posted this on the equipment forum. They told me my skimmer has to develop a film inside, its breaking in. The bubbles have reduced.. I'm guessin they have to drain threw the night so the filter sock can get it.

Thanks guys.

what kind of plumbing do you have going from the mag to the tank? make sure connections are tight at both ends as this can easily cause bubbles if loose

If you have the mag in a 10 gallon sump. The water is probably moving too fast for the bubble traps to work. They just get sucked through.

That's very inefficient. You can just add a gate/ball valve to the output of the pump. It will lower your wattage, and make the pump work less.

This only started happening when I added the skimmer. Some people are telling me that the needle wheel skimmers take a couple days to stop blowing bubbles. So I guess I'm going to wait until then.. if it doesn't work I'll let you guys know
