thats the idea i am getting.

i like xenias and other types. i want to do softies w/ mushrooms and zoos

260 watt in a 55 suitable for most?

or is there any i should not even attempt

also, which species MUST be target/spot fed because i do not really want to do anything other then add supplements to the water occasionaly

thankyou:smokin:

i used 260 over 75 gallon softies did good like mushrooms, polyps, leathers. I use dt's plankton hang on fuge for pods to breed, there free food for corals.

really? any specific examples?

i wis i could have a "fancy" clam but im almost positive thats out the question unless i put it one inch from the light and thats stupid

There are clams that can be kept under PCs. I believe crocea and maxima clams are the two that NEED really high light, others like squamosa, gigas etc. can tolerate somewhat less light. I don't know if 260W would be enough, but try asking in the clam forum.

You can definitely keep LPS under PCs, my 65g is mostly LPS and they're all doing very well under 480W PC (2 x 96W actinic, 2 x 96W 12K, 1 x 96W 10K). I have a fox, bubble, acan, frogspawn, hammers, candycane, and a torch along with Xenia, star polyps, leathers, shrooms, rics and zoas.

I have xenia under 160 watts of NO light (75) and it is growing like a weed. The mushrooms are new but seem to be doing fine.

I have had good luck keeping a yellow fiji leather and an orange leather under power compact however once I increased the lighting with metal halides they exploded. now i am thinking of fragging them.

260 is more than enough.. I run 130.
